La Via del Mare transforms into an open-air art gallery. This third edition of an artistic movement brings the community together through art and urban regeneration.
Since 2022—after the first mural was created by La Fille Bertha in the heart of Quartu Sant’Elena in collaboration with Propositivo—Viale Colombo has embarked on a journey of transformation and enhancement of public space through art and community engagement.
Dozens of walls, roller shutters, benches and planter boxes: over the years every surface has become a canvas for numerous Sardinian artists of international standing.
The City as an Urban Gallery
A continuous movement aimed at transforming the city into an open-air gallery.
Two initiatives: Urban Evolution, a semi-permanent exhibition gallery along Via del Mare; and Fuori Vetrina, street art on the shutters of shops and restaurants.
Via del Mare becomes an urban gallery and you can be part of it. Urban Evolution is looking for artists and illustrators ready to transform bin storage unit covers into artworks visible to everyone.
Whether it’s a single piece or a series, submit your proposal to customize the bin unit covers. Selected artists will collaborate closely with the curatorial team to refine the composition of their final work, which will then be faithfully installed on-site as part of a city-wide exhibition along the main thoroughfare
A Space to Tell Stories
Each bin unit cover becomes an urban canvas of nearly 20 square metres.
Whether a singular work or a coordinated series, every project will be tailored to the space to showcase the artist’s identity and the vision of the project.
Visibililty and Prizes
La Via del Mare, con 5 milioni di passaggi annui, è una vetrina unica per il tuo lavoro. Ogni artista selezionato avrà un QR code sul coprimastello, collegato al proprio portfolio o e-shop. Via del Mare, boasting 5 million passersby each year, offers a one-of-a-kind showcase for your work. Every selected artist will have a QR code on their bin units, linking directly to their portfolio or online shop.
A technical jury will award a total prize pool of 2,000€:
1st Prize: 1,000€
2nd Prize: 600€
3rd Prize: 400€
Make your mark on one of Sardinia’s most vibrant public spaces.
